Graham Children’s Health Services of Toe River (GCHSTR)
Is a community based, community led, volunteer coalition with the vision that every child in the Toe River Area should have the opportunity and the access to achieve the best possible health. GCHSTR has a strong history of bringing the community together, leveraging funding, and addressing community-identified health needs.
Our mission statement best expresses our purpose… “Graham Children’s Health Services of Toe River is a collaborative effort that involves, educates and unites the community for the design and implementation of strategies that will improve the health of children now and in the future”.

Healthy Yancey
Is
a partnership of concerned citizens working together to improve the
quality of health for all people in Yancey County. The Healthy Yancey
partnership is certified by the Governor's Task Force for Healthy Carolinians.
Mission Statement: Healthy Yancey is a partnership of concerned citizens working together to improve the quality of health for all people in Yancey County.
Based on the 2009 Community Health Assessment,
Healthy Yancey now has 3 main focus areas:
1. Lifestyle Choices
obesity prevention, nutrition education, physical activity
2. Access to Care
high cost and lack of health insurance
3. Inaccessibility of Mental Health. |
